Tate promises Waterhouse fireworks
Waterhouse FC's head coach Marvin Tate promises fireworks when his team face newcomers Jamalco FC in the Red Stripe Premier League at Drewsland Stadium on Sunday.
The Waterhouse team suffered losses in their first two games on the road. They went down to UWI FC 1-0 at UWI Mona Bowl, two Sundays ago, then Arnett 1-0 at Drax Hall last Sunday.
Despite the losses and no point on the board, Tate says his team will turn things around in a big way in their first home game of the season.
"I have brought a difference to the club in that the supporters understand what we are doing. We had used the early games as part of the pre-season practise games as we had a slow start," Tate said during the RSPL weekly press conference at Red Stripe, Spanish Town Road, yesterday.
"We set out for a slow start to the season. We expected this. We used many young new players in the first two games as they are the future of Waterhouse," he added.
"Now, after seeing the players in games, we are expecting to win our first home game and really kick start the season. We have seen what the players are capable of doing, so we are confident going forward.
"The players are matching up, and come Sunday you will see why we are highly confident," Tate reasoned.
"Our start has been a slow one, but we have been playing good football and when the goals come we will do great things. We have a young team, so we have to be patient," he also said.
