Ten-man Harbour View FC held leaders, the University of the West Indies, to a 1-1 draw on match-day nine in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) yesterday at the UWI Bowl in Mona.

UWI, who previously were on a five-game win streak, fought back from a goal down to claim a point. Ranique Muir put Harbour View ahead when he beat UWI's goalkeeper Amal Knight in the fifth minute.

The home team cancelled that strike when their captain Rochane Smith's corner kick was met by Deno Schaffe, who headed past Harbour View's custodian Joel Johnson in the 50th minute.

Harbour View was reduced to 10 players when Nicholas Beckett received a red card from referee Odette Hamilton for a dangerous challenge on UWI's Kemar Flemmings in the 47th minute.

It was an evenly contested game as Harbour View had the better of possession in the first half, while UWI came into their own during the second half. Both teams created many opportunities, however, it was a fair result in the end.

UWI maintained pole position when they moved to 20 points in the 12-team standings, while Harbour View remained in 11th position on six points.

In another result, Humble Lion pushed to 17 points following a 2-1 win against Jamalco in the Clarendon derby at the Wembley Centre of Excellence. Jamalco, who previously led the table, stayed on 10 points in seventh position.
