Honduran local football authorities have announced an international friendly between Honduras and Jamaica on February 16, 2017.

The match is scheduled to take place at the BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The Reggae Boyz are preparing for the Caribbean Football Union Men's Caribbean semi-finals next June and the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will start on July 7.

The Hondurans will use the match as preparation for the resumption of World Cup Qualifying in March. They are currently fourth on three points, after two matches in the final CONCACAF hexagonal.

A 2-2 draw was the final result when the two sides previously faced each other in a World Cup qualifier three years ago in the Jamaica capital of Kingston.

Jamaica last played at the proposed match venue on July 11, 2015, posting a 1-0 win over Canada in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and this will be Honduras' first visit to the venue since a 2-0 loss to Guatemala in the Copa Centroamericana on September 10, 2014.
