Jamalco blanked Maverley-Hughenden 2-0 in the battle of the promoted teams in the Red Stripe Premier League yesterday at Wembley Centre of Excellence in Clarendon.

The home side continued their dominance against Maverley-Hughenden, courtesy of goals by Ronnaldo Christian in the 26th minute and substitute Andrew Isaacs (74th).

The Jamalco team has a perfect season versus their opponents, by winning all three games. Jamalco dominated play on either end of the field. They had the better chances and clearly deserved the win.

The win for Jamalco pushed them on to 26 points in 10th position, just outside of the relegation zone, while Maverley-Hughenden remained on 24 points and slipped to 11th position, just five ahead of last-place Boys' Town, who are on 19 points.

The RSPL continues today with a Monday double-header at the National Stadium. In the first game, leaders the University of the West Indies, who are on 47 points, tackle second-place Tivoli Gardens (45), starting at 5:30 p.m., while in the second game, Portmore United face off against Boys' Town at 8 p.m.
