After more than five months of waiting, St Ann Orchids, winners of this year's Berger Elite League competition will be finally presented with their cash prize and trophies at an awards ceremony, which will be held at the Holy Childhood High School grounds in Kingston today.

A member of Netball Jamaica's hierarchy told STAR Sports yesterday that all the various champions will be presented with their cash prizes as well as their trophies.

St Ann Orchids are set to receive $200,000 for winning the competition while runners-up Kingston Hummingbirds will collect $130,000.

Very happy

Janet Guy, coach of the Orchids, said she is very happy that they are finally going to get their prizes.

"It could have come a little earlier but since we were told, people will just have to wait and work it," Guy said.

She added that it had been a long time in coming.

"We were expecting the presentation. Then this and that would happen and so it went over into the next month, then we have some concerns but since we are going to get it at the end of the month, then we are fine," said Guy.

Cash prizes and trophies will also be handed out to JN Bank Open League Parish champions, Supreme Ventures Major and Minor County leagues winners and Sunshine Cereal Intermediate County Leagues champions.
