Central Kingston responding to Bell
Former national youth coach Neville 'Bertis' Bell will lead Central Kingston FC into battle in his first game in charge of the team when they take on Santos in today's feature game of the Magnum/KSAFA Super League competition at Winchester Park.
Bell, who was recently appointed coach of Central Kingston, is also the coach of many-time Manning Cup champions St George's College.
Ansel Lee, assistant manager of Central Kingston, said that Bell has already made a huge impact on the team since his arrival last week.
"He has injected some level of discipline into the team that was not there, and the players have been training very hard without any resistance. So he has done well with the team," said Lee.
"They are very confident, but we have to be careful that they are not too overconfident. This is because of how the training sessions have been going this week," Lee said.
Central Kingston will enter today's contest full of confidence, having defeated rivals Rae Town 2-0 in their last encounter.
On the other hand, Santos will also be hopeful ahead of today's match, having defeated Rockfort 2-0 in their last game.
It was the Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis-coached team's first victory of the season after two defeats.
Dennis said that he has corrected their mistakes, so he is expecting a good showing.
"I think we have started the season very badly, but we have corrected some of the mistakes. We gave up three penalties in two games and that didn't go well for us," said Dennis.
"We have changed up a few personnel and it's looking much better for us now," Dennis said.
