No spectators for HView, TG replay
The Professional Football Association of Jamaica's Operations Committee has ruled that the abandoned Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) game between Harbour View and Tivoli Gardens will be replayed today at 3 p.m. at the Harbour View Stadium.
The game will be played without vendors and spectators, and with just the remaining 22 minutes that were left on the clock before the match had to be called off.
Last Wednesday, a combination of undisciplined fans and players forced an early end to proceedings at the Harbour View Stadium with the hosts leading 2-0 lead with goals from Nicholas Beckett (34th minute) and Rafiek Thomas (55th minute).
Things took a turn for the worse after Tivoli Gardens were reduced to nine players in the first half due to Romaine Breakenridge (22nd) and Jermaine Johnson (36th) receiving red cards. Several spectators began hurling missiles on the field, forcing the referee to call off the game after 68 minutes.
NO FULL REPLAY
But while police and security personnel, medical officials, registered club officials of both teams, registered players of both teams, media, JFF and PFAJ administrators will be allowed into the venue, no vendors or spectators will be granted access into the venue.
The game will restart at the minute that play was interrupted, rather than being replayed in full, with the same scoreline when the game was stopped
The same players must on the pitch and the same substitutes available as when the match was abandoned. No additional substitutes may be added to the team sheet, and the teams can only make substitutions to which they were still entitled when the match was abandoned.
The ruling also outlined that players sent off during the abandoned match cannot be replaced and any sanctions imposed before the match was abandoned remain valid for the remainder of the match.
Meanwhile, a rescheduled game between Arnett and Tivoli has been set for next Wednesday.
