Humble Lion head coach Merron Gordon has confirmed that he will be back with the Clarendon-based outfit next season.

Gordon told Star Sports that he is currently re-evaluating the team's disappointing eighth-place finish in this season's Red Stripe Premier League, because they plan to do a lot better next season.

"So far yes, we are still doing some work up to today (Friday) with some of the younger guys, so I should be the coach in September," said Gordon.

"We are going to do a post-mortem on the season and re-evaluating a few things. After that, the club is going to make a decision regarding the type of players that we are interested in. We'll plan for later in the preseason and after that, I can tell definitely what we are going to push for," Gordon said.

Gordon, who took over at Humble Lion at the end of November, when they were in 10th spot, added that if he had a lot more time with the team, they would have finished much higher in the standings.

"I am disappointed in some ways, I think that I got the job a month or two late, because in the latter parts of the season, we did well, but, unfortunately, we missed the play-offs by about three points. But such is football," said Gordon.
