Reggae Girlz pay the penalty at CAC Games
National All-island champions Excelsior High will face Christ Church Foundation from Trinidad and Tobago in today's feature semi-final of the Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) Champion of Champions High Schools Netball Tournament at the Leila Robinson Courts today starting at 5 p.m.
In the opening semi-final at 3 p.m., Holmwood Technical will take on Springer Memorial from Barbados.
The Carline Graham-coached Holmwood will enter today's contest full of confidence as they ended the preliminary round unbeaten with four victories.
Holmwood will be looking to the likes of Sasha-Gay Forbes, Aliah Lue, Kimberly Gordon and Shyann Smith to lead their charge to victory.
In the feature game, Excelsior, who are favourites to win this year's title, have been the most impressive team in the competition, which saw them topping their group with three straight wins.
Coach of Excelsior, Christopher Smart, said he is very confident that they will win today's semi-final encounter.
"I think Christ Church are a reasonably good team but we see where we can exploit them because I don't think they have strong enough defenders to match our powerful attacking force," said Smart.
"I think our defence can match any attack in this competition. I am not going to underestimate anybody but I see Excelsior reaching the final on Saturday," Smart said.
The Mountain View-based Excelsior will be depending heavily on the likes of national senior goalshooter Hasana Williams along with Rusheda Campbell, Kamia Daley, Latian Stewart and Racoya Douglas to lead their team to victory.
On the other hand, Christ Church will also enter today's semi-final full of confidence, after their impressive 40-20 victory over Scarborough from Trinidad and Tobago in their final group game yesterday.
