I stole a country man’s woman and built a happy family

Dear Pastor,

I am 29 years old. I am living with a woman who is 27. We have two children together.

I am an electrician. I went to the country with my boss to work on a house and that is where I met this woman. We became friends. I invited her to come and live with me in Kingston. It created a little problem because she had a boyfriend who did not want her to leave where she was living, but I persuaded her.

When I got back to Kingston, the guy called me and told me that I should prepare for her because she has decided to come. She came to Kingston and stayed with some of my relatives until I found a place where we could live. When she came to Kingston, she did not realise that she was already pregnant with her first child. I was not aware of it either, but we agreed that I would take charge of the pregnancy because her boyfriend advised her that he would have nothing to do with that child.

I do not have any regret in supporting the child. I should say that, soon after she gave birth to the first child, she got pregnant again and I sent both children to school. Their mother went back to school and she is doing her own business.

I can trust this woman with my money. She takes good care of me. We are happily married and we bought a house together. A better wife I could not have.

Dear M.,

People meet each other in very strange ways. This is not the way, I am sure, that you had planned your life. But I am glad that everything has worked in your favour. Continue to take care of your wife and your children. I am sure she will take care of you. I wish the family well.
