Cop robbed of gun

October 19, 2016

A female cop has been robbed of her firearm by criminals in St Ann.

The incident took place on Monday but the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has said little about the robbery.

Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, head of the police’s communication arm,  told THE STAR that the matter is being investigated and that there will be no official statement for now.

“Yes, there was an incident but the matter is being investigated and, therefore, we are not giving a detailed account at the moment,"  Lindsay said.

"It is indeed the commissioner that will be making a determination as to what is next. We, however, will not give a public release at this time,” she added.

It is understood that the woman corporal parked her vehicle and when into a fast-food restaurant. When she returned she discovered that her vehicle was broken into and her handbag was missing. The handbag reportedly had the firearm and other valuables.
