A lucky raccoon who jumped from a nine-storey tower block escaped without injury.
The 'daredevil' animal was spotted trying to scale a tall building in New Jersey's Ocean City last Friday, and gathered a large crowd of onlookers, who saw the animal propel itself on to the sandy ground and run off without a graze.
A video, which shows the raccoon jump off the nine storey building and thud on to the sandy floor was filmed by Micha Rea, has gone viral on social media.
Before the animal jumped, the crowd called animal control, hoping they would be able to save the raccoon. But it turned out that gravity and luck helped the animal master the vertical drop.
The creature quickly ran off after his daring fall on to the ground, and the large crowd gave him a round of applause, with one woman shouting: "Oh, he's fine!"
A student was left mortified after she sent an essay to her professor which contained a rude nickname for him.
Zoey Oxley, from Cincinnati in Ohio, was forced to send a grovelling apology to the supervisor after sending in some work which referred to him as 'Professor what's his nuts'.
To make matters worse, John Hendel her professor shared the story on Twitter, where it's been favourited more than 300,000 times.
He wrote: "A student emailed me, profusely apologising for getting my name wrong at the top of their paper, and I was like, 'Thanks, whatever, nbd. Then I got to their paper and saw their instructor was 'Professor what's his nuts'" (sic)
A grandpa has been falling asleep with the cats at the sanctuary he volunteers at.
Terry Laurman, 75, visits the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary to help out with the animals and groom them with his own special brush. But he has become a social media sensation, thanks to pictures of him nodding off alongside the felines.
The sanctuary wrote on a Facebook post: "We are so lucky to have a human like Terry. Terry just came along one day and introduced himself.
"He said he'd like to brush cats. Eventually it became everyday. He brushes all of the cats, and can tell you about all of their likes and dislikes.
"He also accidentally falls asleep most days. We don't mind Cats need this! Terry is a wonderful volunteer".

A sexy 'Handmaid's Tale' Halloween costume has been pulled from sale.
Online retailer Yandy has dropped their revealing costume based on the character Offred from the dystopian novel and TV drama of the same name due to widespread outcry on social media.
The feminist novel features 'Handmaids' who are oppressed in an extremely patriarchal world and forced to cover up their bodies however the brand's costume featured a very short skin-tight red dress paired with the character's red robe and white cap.
The lingerie retailer's website featured a model wearing a 'Brave Red Maiden Costume' and the costume's description read: 'An upsetting dystopian future has emerged where women no longer have a say. However, we say be bold and speak your mind in this exclusive Brave Red Maiden costume."
