Iba Mahr releases debut album today
With a consistent pool of hits, fans will no longer wait in vain as ace Reggae artiste Iba Mahr will release his debut album Diamond Sox today.
The 15-track album was produced by Jermaine Edwards and Roland McDermot for Born Rollin Productions and will be distributed by the VP Records affiliate, VPAL.
"Diamond Sox features members of my musical family, such as the legendary saxophonist Dean Fraser, Capleton, Tarrus Riley, Jah Mali, Notis and Jah9," Iba Mahr said, also giving credits to producers Michael Howell, Oneness Records, Conquering Lion Sound and Conrad Scarlett for their contributions to the album. "Diamond Sox album displays the many moods of Iba Mahr and shows that I have so much to say. Each song brings variety to the album, allowing me to express my spirituality, roots, culture, history, love and intimacy. I refer to this one as a good book, with interesting chapters to read".
The artiste excited audiences in the United States over the summer holiday when he toured with fellow Reggae singer Kabaka Pyramid and the Bebble Rockers band, on the Young Lions Tour. Iba Mahr also performed for the first time in Canada at the 2015 Montreal International Reggae Festival in August.
"We made history... I hold tightly to the memories of sharing space with my brother Kabaka Pyramid and The Bebble Rockers band," he said.
The success of the album's title track, Diamond Sox, produced by Notis Productions, placed the artiste on several charts all around the world with many wondering if he will be able to replicate this success. "Building on this momentum and with the quality of songs on the album, I feel the Diamond Sox album will replicate if not surpass the level of success I experienced with the song," he predicted.
