Firms team up to spread C'bean entertainment
Artiste promotional firm MPR Consulting has teamed up with Martinique-based company KRIBBEAN to spread its coverage to other islands across the Caribbean.
According to owner of MPR Consulting, Malaika Lepine, the collaboration will expose recording artistes to massive campaigns and rebranding.
"When we think of the Caribbean we tend to mention and think of the bigger and most popular islands, but there is so much talent ready to be discovered events all over the 28-plus islands. At the touch of a finger we will open the way for the world to be introduced to such places as St Croix or Martinique among others," Lepine told THE STAR.
He noted the firm has represented various artistes, groups, labels and promoters including Grammy Award-winning Morgan Heritage, Grammy-nominated Raging Fyah, professional athlete-turned-recording artiste Omari Banks and Billboard charting K'Coneil.
KRIBBEAN is a digital platform that predominantly caters to events such as concerts, cruises and boat parties. The music promoted ranges from soca to salsa.
The collaboration between the companies is set deliver monthly spotlights and features, and will give exposure to various projects.
Mike Ponin, who represents KRIBBEAN, believes the move will further prove to critics that the Caribbean can be stronger as one unit. He expressed long-standing admiration for MPR Consulting's know-how and experience.
"It is a step further based on the common ambition which drives us. We believe in the Caribbean culture and we are aware that the world is seeking to capitalise on the Caribbean right now," he said.
He said he thought it best for the companies to unite for the greater good and take Caribbean talents on the international level.
"It will also give exposure to acts and events from smaller islands that aren't usually recognised," Ponin said.
