Fast-rising dancehall artiste Splendid is riding a wave of success with his single titled Wukie Wukie.

The salsa-flavoured dancehall track, which was produced by Daley Works Entertainment and Miketerhon Music, is currently enjoying steady rotation both locally and abroad.

Wukie Wukie is also buzzing the local party scene.

"My song is getting a lot of support. It's one of the biggest tunes on the party scene in Montego Bay right now. I have to big up all the DJs and selectors who are playing it, especially Trophy Sniper from Montego Bay; he's giving my career a lot of support," said Splendid.

A lot of promotion

Splendid is scheduled to visit Jamaica in April to shoot a video for 'Wukie Wukie'.

"I also plan to do a lot of promotion while I'm there and voice some new songs," he said.

The hard-working entertainer is also promoting a remake of the timeless calypso classic, 'Big Bamboo' which was released late last year.

"I love the response I'm getting with this song; my fans love it. The video is also doing well and it's getting a lot of hits on YouTube."

Splendid (given name is Alphonso Jones) was born and raised in Charles Town, St Ann.

He migrated to Toronto, Canada in 2000. He began his recording career two years later when he released his debut single titled, Down Low.
