Kantana 'Still A Try' with new video
Dancehall artiste Kantana recently shot a video for his popular breakout single, Still A Try, which he will release in several international markets in March.
"The video is going to be great. We got a lot of high-energy scenes. Plus I have got a lot of positive feedback from street selectors and disc jockeys about this song. The video is in post-production now, and will be released in March," Kantana said.
The video was directed by noted video director Steve Bernard, and features scenes shot in Jack's Hill, Grant's Pen and Red Hills.
Last month, Kantana got a major boost when a video of his performance alongside Beenie Man at Rebel Salute 2017 went viral, trending at number 12 in Jamaica on YouTube for the month of January, and racking up more than 100,000 views.
"My social media presence is really going up. A video for my song, Smoke and Drink, has over 60,000 views. My GT Taylor Xtravaganza performance has over 53,000 views and counting, and the Rebel Salute one has over 100,000 and counting," he said.
The deejay's social media presence has been boosted by appearances alongside Beenie Man at shows such as the recent GT Taylor Xtravaganza show in St Elizabeth, and Chug It in Portmore where he got good 'forwards' for songs like People, Head A Bunx and Touch Di Road.
Kantana also got a lot of street buzz recently with the release of his new mixtape called Touch Di Road. The mixtape features 14 songs, several of which Kantana wrote and produced himself.
"The mixtape a spread like wild fire islandwide. If it nuh reach yuh yet, it soon reach. It is on its way," he said, noting that more than 5,000 copies of the mixtape have been distributed.
Kantana will also be 'touching the road' with Beenie Man on several overseas engagements, including shows in Australia, and the Caribbean.
