Eyesus gets buzz with 'Social Media'
Dancehall artiste Ricardo 'Eyesus' Rhoden is pumped about the reaction to the video of his latest single, 'Social Media Snapchat'.
"The song is creating a big impact on all social media. Fans like the content of the video, and it hit 3,000 views the first day it was uploaded on YouTube. The song is all over social media as well with hundreds of females snapping to it everyday on Snapchat, and reposting on IG," Eyesus said.
Eyesus is hoping to use the buzz to break into markets local and international as he has been getting great feedback from selectors and disc jocks in the Caribbean and Canada.
Eyesus is booked to perform on shows such as Jambana, Montreal Reggae Fest, Toronto Reggae Fest, in Canada and an event dubbed Oh Canada in April in Jamaica at The Docks.
Last year, he was named by entertainment blogs and magazine as being Toronto's number-one dancehall artiste.
Born on D'Aguilar Road, off Waltham Park Road, St Andrew, 25-year-old Eyesus has been performing since age 10.
He migrated to Canada in 2002 and launched into the reggae scene a year later. Soon after, he was opening for the likes of Ne-Yo, Destra, Mavado, Beenie Man, Jah Vinci, Elephant Man, Serani, Lady Saw, Sean Paul, Sanchez and others.
He has performed to thousands at events such as the annual Jamaica Day Celebration and Champions In Action.
He is known for singles such as T Dot Ah Mi Place, Slow Wine and We Hate You First featuring Jahvinci.
