Denzel Martin releases 'Love Song'
Reggae singer Denzel Martin believes in making timeless music and the multi-talented entertainer is confident that his latest release, a groovy lovers song titled Love Song, will be a modern classic.
The song, which was produced by Martin, was released on his Lafayette Concepts Records imprint on May 31. Since then, it has enjoyed steady airplay on FM radio.
"I'm extremely pleased with the response that my song is getting. It's also enjoying rotation on stations in the US, the UK and Europe," said the artiste.
Martin plans to increase the growing popularity of Love Song by shooting a video for the single.
"Hopefully, it will be done and ready for release before the end of July," he said.
The hard-working entertainer, who is also a professional sculptor, furniture designer and graphic artist, is determined to make his name on the reggae music scene.
"I love to make music that will engage a diverse audience. My main topics are love and passion. I like to write songs that move people and let them get in touch with their emotions. I think that's something that's lacking in reggae music today and I'm here to fill that void," Martin said.
Martin was born in Kingston but grew up with his maternal grandparents in Balcarres, Portland.
He is a graduate of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts and also holds a bachelors of arts degree from Columbia College, Chicago.
Inspired by the likes of Beres Hammond and Maxi Priest, Martin launched his recording career in 1989 with the release of a song titled Memory.
