Top 10 vie for Digicel Rising Stars fame
With four contestants eliminated in the first two weeks of the show, the line-up for Digicel Rising Stars has now been whittled down to 10.
Fighting hard to stay in the hearts of the voting viewers, the top 10 finalists did their best to bring their A-game to Sunday night's show, with their take on songs from the 2000s onwards.
Standout performances for the night included Francois Martin's cover of Pillow Talk by Zayn, a comeback which judge Anthony Miller thinks might keep him safe from elimination for at least another week.
India Celine's jazzy delivery of Shakira and Rihanna's 2014 hit Can't Remember to Forget You also resonated well.
Resident judge, Conroy Wilson, who is also the executive and creative director of the Ashe Performing Arts Group, said: "A lot of these contestants have the full package the looks and the talent. However, they still have a lot of work to do in terms of choosing appropriate songs, staying on key and delivering strong interpretations of the songs they choose in a unique and memorable way."
The other contestants who made it to the top 10 are Akeem 'Short Boss' Smith, Donica Dennis, Jasmine Barnes, Offniel Lamont, Jasmine Collins, Anthonia Atkinson and Dwayne 'Touriss' Wilson and Jerone Riley.
Viewers have until 5 p.m. this Sunday to vote for their favourite contestants to stay on the show, which next airs at 8 p.m. on TVJ.
