Promoter wants to set trends in Clarendon
Ace selector Chris Dymond from the Red Code Sound System will be a special guest selector at the Drunk Under The Influence (DUI) Premium Party, which will be held at James Hill Primary School in Clarendon on August 25.
In addition to Chris Dymond, the event will have other selectors like DJ Lanka, DJ Marvin and Map Head.
Shaun McKenzie, the organiser of DUI, told THE WEEKEND STAR that he created the event to set a trend in the parish of Clarendon.
"DUI is no regular party, it's a premium event. The first DUI event was very good one. the people came out in their numbers to see what DUI was all about. The decor, food and entertainment were what caused DUI to gain its popularity in Clarendon and adjoining parishes," he said.
He added: "I choose the parish of Clarendon to host and build the DUI brand and event because there are only a few premium events in the parish and I always wanted Clarendon, especially rural Clarendon, to be seen by the Jamaica and the world as a major party destination."
McKenzie also noted that part proceeds from DUI are donated community-development programmes in the area.
