Leba Hibbert sings about Jamaica
Reggae singer Leba Hibbert is gearing up for the release of her new track titled Jamaica, which features fellow singer Hawkeye. The track is a roots-reggae remake of Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello's highly successful single Havana.
"It's about summer love and falling in love with a bad boy who was visiting Jamaica. I moved to the States to live with him but became extremely homesick pining over my beautiful Jamaica," said Leba, who is the daughter to Toots Hibbert.
While it has not yet been officially released, the track has been making the rounds and garnering great feedback so far. Leba said, "The DJs love it, and persons around the world contact me on social media expressing their love for the song and anticipating its official release."
The pair also performed the song at the opening ceremony for the Sub-Zonals Chess Federation at the Knutsford Court Hotel, where it was well-received. In addition, it has been receiving airplay across the USA and the United Kingdom and was even featured during the prestigious UK Carnival.
