Dancing and fashion in Desha Ravers' DNA
If there is one dream that Deshagaye 'Desha Ravers' Davis wants to turn into a reality, it is becoming a professional stylist.
The daughter of dancehall entertainer Beenie Man said: "If is anything I get from mi father is dancing and fashion."
Desha Ravers revealed that she tested her voice years ago to see if there was a chance of becoming a recording artiste but never went any further.
"People always think that children of entertainers will have the talent to either sing or write music but that's not for me. I am trying to maximise on my other talents and build relationships with Corporate Jamaica," she said.
She has earned the attention of companies because of her dancing and fashion, and she pointed out that her role as a judge in the ongoing Campari Pop Style competition has helped with her gain even more exposure.
"Through the competition, people are getting to see my style more, so more time persons message me on Instagram asking where I get my clothing and shoes from and even request for me to style them," she said. "But I can only say that I have styled about two persons."
The dancer describes her style as fun and risky.
DRESSING ACCORDING TO MOOD
"In fashion, I always have to take risk and I have fun doing it, that's just me; it has nothing to do with preferences. I dress to my mood, so mi wear anything at any time," she said.
November opens a very busy schedule for the dancer; she is expecting to travel to Antigua for Magnum Xplosion on November 16 and to participate in various shows across the island.
"I think at some point fashion will take over as I don't really plan to dance for my entire life. It will have to get a break at some point so I can try other things.
