"At first, my artiste name was Don Callan, but because someone had a similar name, mi take 'D' from the Don and di 'C' from Callon and created DC. When I started to attend high school, one a mi classmate say a 'stuban' me fi name, so mi just stay true to di DC and add the Stuban, DC Stuban," he said. He noted that a few artists have influenced his musical journey.

Mavado and Alkaline inspired me the most. Mavado came from nothing, like me. so that motivated me. Alkaline got nuff hate, but he just worked hard and beat dem, so that's why they inspired me," said DC Stuban.
"My international artistes for me are 50 Cent and Migos. I just rate the happy music they do, always 'drip out' is a motivation for me," he added.
