Tashina Muzik amazed by reaction to Kartel collab
Dancehall fusion artiste Tashina Muzik is cherishing the moment as her collaboration with Vybz Kartel is nearing the two-million views mark on YouTube.
"This is my biggest song to date, the first time I had a song that was trending, my first time on the US Reggae iTunes chart. The overall feedback and support which is being shown has put my career on a different level. People from all over the world are submitting videos to me dancing to the song. It shot!" an ecstatic Tashina Muzik said.
She added that she was surprised when fans began comparing her vocals to those of dancehall star Spice.
"The market has been longing for a hardcore dancehall song. It is an authentic dancehall song and everybody just a bruk out to it. Most people online thought that the female on it was Spice, so I take the comparison positively. I was like, 'I am a singer and they are comparing me to the Queen of Dancehall? That's a damn good comparison'," she said.
Tashina Muzik has an EP coming out in early 2022, which will feature a collaboration with Torey Lanez and several R&B and rap acts.
"The hard work is definitely paying off and I am thankful for all the fans and team members that continue to make this single a success," said Tashina Muzik.
The song has propelled her to being one of the most sought-after emerging female dancehall acts in the US, and she has shows coming up in Orlando, Panama City and Miami's South Beach, all in Florida, within the next month.
