Rad Dixon covers the greats on new EP
Reggae crooner Rad Dixon is giving the necessary respect and appreciation to musical greats with his latest four-track EP, titled The Best Lovers Rock Covers, which he officially released on January 1.
The project showcases the artiste giving renditions of world-renowned R&B and reggae songs from some of the music industry's greats like Dennis Brown, Kenny Rogers, Bryan Adams and Billy Ocean. It is executively produced by Dixon's management team, Tasjay Productions, and presented by musical connoisseur DJ Treasure Music.
Rad Dixon believes that some of these artistes and songs paved the way for many of the young reggae acts now touring worldwide, and wanted to show his own appreciation.
"Billy Ocean is for sure one of the most established Rastafarian performers in rhythm and blues singing real love songs, not to mention the great Dennis Brown, one of reggae's finest lovers' rock singers who has inspired a lot of artistes globally. This is the perfect way to honour their contribution" he shared.
VERSATILITY
The familiarity of the tracks is also a bonus for the artiste as this will only showcase his talent and versatility, especially on the live stage.
"Doing a covers album is a good idea because these are songs people already know and love. Now, they get to experience my own flavour on songs that everyone can sing along to. It's always great to start the new year with a new-yet-familiar project," he added.
The project is another in a slew of releases from Tasjay Productions. One of the latest was the Outta Jamaica Project that featured artistes such as Luciano and Anthony B.
