Onemotion cites upbringing for building his character
Fast-rising dancehall artiste Tedroy McBean, aka 'Onemotion' is proud of his upbringing in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, and believes that the experiences have helped to shape his character.
"I was born with the music in my blood. My friends saw my talent and said I must continue, and I have never looked back since," he said. "However, it is only about four years now that I started taking music seriously, and I'm definitely taking it to another level." His most recent release is the single titled Pain. The video for the track is currently on YouTube.
Onemotion said that reggae/dancehall icon Buju Banton inspires him.
"He wrote some great songs and his delivery is exceptional," he said. "The international artiste who inspires me is Jay-Z. I can appreciate the fact that he is a highly successful songwriter, singer and manager; and he has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the music."
Though the COVID-19 pandemic has affected him negatively, Onemotion is thankful that he is still able to do the craft that he loves.
"I had shows during 2020 that were cancelled. Nonetheless, we just have to overcome and prepare for the future," he said.
