Gospel artiste Veronica Leigh tries to be a beacon of light for others through her latest album, Lady Bird, which was released on January 22.

"This album highlights topics such as mental, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, married and single, singleness, loneliness, holiness, forgiveness and hope," the artiste explained.

Inspired by her own spiritual journey and fight to overcome adversities, she hopes to pass on the courage it took for her to rise above the difficult times to listeners.

"I want them to receive healing, empowerment, deliverance, reconciliation, restoration and a passion for, and to know, Jesus Christ," she said. Leigh is hopeful that the project will be the key to open up numerous possibilities for her, including the chance to establish conferences, seminars, concerts and workshops. She said that she also wants to create a safe place for vulnerable women and young girls.

Based in the United Kingdom, Leigh has been on her musical journey for the past 10 years, taking her gospel sound to higher heights by incorporating other sounds such as R&B, neo soul, Afrobeat, dancehall and reggae. She has been steadily building her catalogue, with past releases including My Destiny My Purpose reggae album and The Secret Place EP, along with a slew of singles such as I Declare, One Word From You and Name Above All Names.

Following Lady Bird, the artiste has several new projects in the pipeline, including a reggae album that is expected to drop in by the middle of this year.
