Sira Dionne sings for the secret lovers
Singer Sira Dionne will be quick to tell you that her latest single, The First Time We Met, is not an autobiography.
"I'm not a matey, but let's say, they are people with feelings too," she said. The song is written with clearly the 'other man/woman' in mind and Sira Dionne, given name Dionne Aris, explains her reason for recording it.
"I believe loneliness puts persons in very uncomfortable relationships where one's emotional security and even integrity is at risk. But it doesn't dismiss that the feeling is love and that individual's need to be loved," she said.
Already gaining traction in the entertainment world, the Jamaican singer, who is based in Miami, Florida, revealed that she pulled the single from her 'archives'; The First Time We Met is the first single that she ever wrote.
With songs such as Lap Dance, Standing Today and Dem A Watch, Sira Dionne is not new to the entertainment world, and has been practising her craft since her teen years before delving into recording and eventually self-management. The First Time We Met was released by Zojak Worldwide on all digital platforms on February 8.
