The queen has her own dog perfume
Queen Elizabeth II is releasing a perfume for dogs.
Canine lovers will be able to purchase Happy Hounds Dog Cologne for PS9.99 (US$13.53) in the gift shop of Sandringham House, which is the British monarch's estate in Norfolk, England.
The description of the pooch perfume, which is unisex, says it smells of "coastal walks" and has a "rich, musky scent with citrus notes of bergamot".
The Sandringham Estate's gift shop already lists The Sandringham Happy Hound Gift Box, touted as "the ideal present for dog lovers and their furry friends," on its website. The box set includes a dog shampoo, game bones and a tweed dog toy. The pet scent has been created in collaboration with Norfolk Natural Living.
Queen Elizabeth II also released a range of dog biscuits in August 2021. The 95-year-old royal approved a line of canine snacks, called Game Bones, made with meat from the grounds surrounding Sandringham House and flavoured with royal venison.
The doggy biscuits come in a paper bag with a royal seal and, although they do not contain any additives or preservatives, they are recommended for "occasional use" and as a "training aid" for pet pooches. The queen has owned corgis and dorgis, a cross between a dachshund and a corgi, since she was 18.
Last May, she mourned the loss of dorgi Fergus, one of two new puppies given to her while her late husband Prince Philip was in the hospital. The mutt was named after her late uncle Fergus Bowes-Lyon, who died during World War I in 1915. The other dog is named Muick after a favourite spot near Balmoral Castle. Along with two dogs, the queen still also has her last corgi, Candy.
Lil Wayne heading for UK after more than a decade
Lil Wayne is set to perform in the UK for the first time in 14 years.
The controversial rapper was due to perform in the country in 2011, but visa issues prevented the star from entering. In December 2020, Wayne plead guilty to possessing a firearm, a .45 calibre gun and six rounds of ammunition, after authorities searched his private plane in December 2019.
However, then-US President Donald Trump pardoned the Lonely rapper on his last full day in office before he could be sentenced.
The chart-topping music star is a convicted felon, following a gun charge back in 2007, and was facing the possibility of a 10-year spell in prison. However, he made bail for the sum of $250,000.
Now, Lil Wayne is set to make his comeback at Strawberries Creem festival, which takes place between June 17 and 19 in Cambridge. Last June, he was also accused of pulling a gun on one of his bodyguards. The 39-year-old reportedly got into an argument with a member of his security detail at his Hidden Hills home and when things got physical, he allegedly aimed an assault rifle at the man.
Sources told TMZ that Lil Wayne, whose given name is Dwayne Carter, pulled out the gun after he told the bodyguard to leave and instead of immediately vacating the premises, the staff member stopped off to use the bathroom. A source had claimed Lil Wayne wasn't in possession of a firearm.
However, a separate law enforcement source claimed police had "issues" with the man's account as there were allegedly no marks on his body from a physical altercation.
