Veteran singer Junior Reid and daughter Kimio Reid are predicting that their debut collaboration, Jet Tek Off, will be a summer anthem.

Produced by his JR Productions label, the record imbues dancing with promoted moves like 'Jumbo Jet', but still packs in serious messages like Junior Reid's call for the freedom of Ninja Man, Vybz Kartel and Mavado's son Dante Brooks. Kimio, known as the 'One Blood Prince$$', encourages youth to go hard and keep pushing, regardless of their background.

"It will be a hot song for the summer," Junior Reid told THE WEEKEND STAR. "It's getting a lot of love in the dance right now; all the DJs playing it and I feel good about this song. There's a lot of dancing songs as well going out right now, so I think it will do good and bring some happy vibes."

Though it premiered a few months ago, they are just pumping promotion into the project, as Kimio said she was on a break in the US where she was born and raised.

"I'm back on the scene. I just got here like three days ago and I'm about to turn this song up even more," she said. "The feedback is gonna go crazier, so I just hope everybody keeps enjoying it and dancing to it."

The apple surely didn't fall far from the tree with Kimio. She said she always wanted to be a professional entertainer, and was singing and writing songs in middle school. She decided to make her music debut last year while at a studio session with her dad where she heard him singing Jet Tek Off.

"Everybody was vibing, dancing to it and jumping around and I said ' I wanna get on it'. Dad was laughing like, 'You sure?' and I said 'Yeah'. He was all for it. I made it the same day but then there were some changes I had to fix as it wasn't perfect and he helped me put it together the way that it came out. You got to start from the bottom to get to the top and he just showed me how I should manoeuvre in the business and I'm happy I was able to start doing music and have my big debut with my father," she said.

Kimio is looking to relocate to Jamaica to focus on her music career, and is already working on her first solo single.
