Shem Jay talks about real pain on ‘Jah Know’
Dancehall artiste Shem Jay takes an emotional turn in his latest single, Jah Know.
Appropriately featured on the HeartFelt Instrumental, the track was produced by Boujjee Ent and officially released on February 19.
"This song is all about a friend who I believed in and trusted, who turned his back on me because of money. The moral of the story is, don't trust easily, protect your peace, and get rid of toxicity," the artiste explained. The accompanying music video, which conveys the song's message in the style of a short story, has been getting positive feedback.
"I have people telling me that the song resonated with them and puts things into words that are usually hard to say," the artiste said. "This song is very deep, even a Christian can relate. I really have high confidence in its success. My hope is to be the next big thing."
Describing his music as heartfelt, Shem Jay is a versatile artiste who is able to take his own experiences and spin them into fun yet meaningful songs that people from all walks of life can enjoy.
"In my songs, the words come directly from my heart. Everyone has bad days, so my songs will always live on and help those who are listening to feel even a little better," he stated.
Previous singles include Gone, Blem Dem and Some Day.
"With the current pandemic, it has helped me to put more effort into my music. People use media more now because of COVID, so they stream songs more to find peace," the artiste said.
