Just Soull recalls first time with the ‘weed’

Up-and-coming reggae artiste Just Soull is spreading happy vibes with his single ' Happy Weed', which he says is about much more than just the plant and smoking.

" Happy Weed is literally a vibe. It was one of the songs that I started writing in the initial stages when I started doing music. It took a while because I wanted to write a good song that would be able to give off the vibe I wanted. It took me a couple of months before I decided on the way I wanted to go with it," he said.

Just Soull, given name Neiko Graham, admitted that smoking weed for the first time left an indelible mark on him, which, in turn, motivated him to pen a song that would vividly describe his excitement.

"The first time I smoked weed I was at home with a few of my friends and family. I was just laughing ... I was in such a vibe and the energy around me was so funny. It led me to be in a space where I was just laughing. Happy Weed is not just a song about a youth smoking weed and laughing down the entire place. It's also about the energy that was surrounding me," he explained.

This is his second single since his official entry into music. His debut track was titled Run Me My Love that dropped in December 2020.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK

"But Happy Weed is the first song that I decided to go in depth for. I got a lyric video done that was done by some young professionals called Chiney Movement. New Look Productions is the one responsible for shooting the video for Happy Weed," he said, adding that he's seen positive feedback about the track.

"Mi feel like the most impactful comments I've got are from non-smokers who tell me that as much as they don't smoke, they really enjoy the song," Just Soull shared
