Valcure says the prayers ‘Gone Up’
Reggae singer Valcure is celebrating the success of his latest single Gone Up, which offers spiritual solace in the face of betrayal and emotional heartbreak.
"The inspiration came from day-to-day living. Having been hurt by family, friends, people who mean the most to us, people who you would give your all for. They always seem to be the ones to hurt the most. That's where the inspiration came from, the prayers gone up," said the artiste.
The single was release last September on the Skengman Records imprint. The beat for the single was produced by Young Pow Production. The artiste hopes to "cure" the music with his positive brand.
"The significance of my name is to protect the music and culture ... our heritage, and to provide the people with great music," he said.
Valcure, given name Sheldon Stewart, grew up in Coleyville, Manchester, and attended Holmwood Technical High School where he was surrounded by music as a youth. He recorded his first single, Every Day I Rise, but the song was never released. He continued to hone his craft. He is working on finishing tracks to release his first EP this year.
