Shatta Roaxh to release EP
The lockdown caused by the pandemic has allowed dancehall artiste Shatta Roaxh to spend more time in the recording studio.
Along with his production team, he is preparing an EP titled Water and Wine, which is due for release within the next few months. The project will feature as many as 10 tracks, with production from the likes of MPF Records and Jamaica-based Doni Music Productions. Shatta Roaxh says the project will reflect his talent and musical charisma.
PASSION FOR MUSIC
The deejay, who was born in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, grew up in Antigua and Barbuda. He resides between there and the US. Shatta Roaxh says he was introduced to dancehall and reggae music from an early age by his father, who was always playing different types of music, especially on Sundays when he was not working.
"From then I developed a passion for the music and the rest is history as the would say," said Shatta Roaxh.
Asked what he brings to the table musically, he said: "I would say I bring a sound of my own style based on where I was born and how we speak there. Then you know I put my sound and the language I speak together to bring out the dancehall and reggae flavour."
He added: "My musical journey has been a bittersweet type of experience because most times we got different things going on to balance our life but at the end of the day, I already know what's the mission that I'm trying to accomplish."
