Ijah Maakiedetermined to ‘Go On’

Recording artiste Ijah Maakie has released a song aimed at motivating and inspiring the ones who need it the most, titled Go On.

"The message stands out for this song. Since the start of the pandemic, many people have been going through some really hard times. I made this song to encourage people to stay strong and simply go on, regardless of what they are faced with right now," the artiste said.

Maakie said that his own experiences led to the creation of the track.

"This song was written and also recorded at one of the lowest points in my life. In October 2021, I met in a motor vehicle accident and was off the scene for a short while. That situation made me realise that I need to meticulously pay attention to my circle and properly analyse those who are really in my corner," he said.

Since its release, the track has been gaining traction both on and offline, especially the accompanying music video which has been getting much attention.

"It's only been good energy so far since the release. I was told by a few people that they appreciate the song so much as it resonates perfectly with their present situation and is, indeed, an encouragement, so I consider that in itself already a win," the artiste said.

Maakie has released several projects such as the six-track Journey EP, as well as singles like High Horse, Silent Heart and Go Harder.
