Urban Mystic does tribute to Jah Cure

American neo soul artiste Urban Mystic has released a cover of Jah Cure's single True Reflections in the wake of the singer receiving a six-year sentence in the Netherlands on attempted manslaughter charges.

Urban Mystic and Jah Cure have worked together before and the former did the song as a tribute to his incarcerated colleague.

"Firstly, the song is a great song and I wanted to bring an R&B flavour to it for a long time. But when my former stablemate Jah Cure got into trouble in the Netherlands, it was the right time to release the song to give him some support," said Urban Mystic, whose given name is Brandon Williams.

The song was released via SoBe Entertainment via all digital download platforms. True Reflections was a major single for Jah Cure, topping several ethnic reggae charts in 2006.

Jah Cure, given name Siccaturie Alcock, stabbed event promoter Nicardo 'Papa' Blake, 45, on October 1 at Dam Square, in the city centre of Amsterdam, where he was booked for a performance. Jah Cure had performed at Blake's concert two days before in the Melkweg.

Urban Mystic has previously released singles like Where Were You which hit the Billboard R&B charts, and I Refuse which reached #36 in the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The Florida-based singer has released five albums.
