After a two-year hiatus, the internationally acclaimed event Oh Canada returned with a bang last Friday on Port Royal Street, downtown Kingston.

The classy event saw the ladies dressed mainly in red and white, which are the Canadian national colours, while the men were in dapper suits.

The event saw an influx of visitors from Canada, USA, and the UK flying in to experience the 'Oh Canada' vibe. This year's staging took a twist as the slow to medium pace vibe was drastically switched to hardcore dancehall mixes from the 2000s to current hits, which patrons loved. A host of DJs kept patrons moving and dancers such as Energy and the Get There crew as well as Shelly Belly showed off the latest moves. Promoter of the event, Wonda, was a happy man.

"I'm pleased with this year's staging of Oh Canada. The patrons came out in their numbers and what a grand time we had," he said. "Oh Canada has been going nine years strong and the event has grown from strength to strength. We have seen the likes of many top names supporting Oh Canada over the years, such as Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Junior Reid, Munga [Honorable], Dancehall Queen Carlene, Lisa Hyper and Pamputtae, just to name a few." He saluted all the DJs for keeping patrons on their toes and bouncing to every beat.
