Lil Hanky Panky to release album this year
German singer and dancer Lil Hanky Panky is looking forward to more growth this year on the Jamaican music scene and is planning to release her first full-length album.
Though unable to share much details about the project, the performer said she is constantly trying to showcase the versatility of music.
A little under a year since the release of her debut EP, Metamorphic, she said that based on the feedback, people are yearning to hear more from the dancer-turned-artiste.
"The EP has been doing good. The people are getting to know me and know my versatility because the project has a lot of versatile songs. It has more of like an international pop sound. Now I have been coming out with more dancehall songs lately to show people me deh a Jamaica now too. So, people have been liking the lyrics and I have been getting great feedback from it," she shared with THE STAR following her performance at Cosmic Rotation last Wednesday.
Lil Hanky Panky, who has been living in Jamaica for about four years, started off the year with the Bounty Killer collaboration Dreams that was produced by After 13 Records. She has her sights set on continuing the upward trajectory with the album.
"I have the songs recorded and I am doing the fine-tuning now. Once I see the bigger picture, I will come up with a date and a name as well. I have a lot of different vibes and I can't wait for people to hear it," she said.
As for the rest of the year, the artiste, whose given name is Lilie Gorchkov, said she is just hoping to come out of her shell as she finds her place in the local music business space.
"I don't like putting myself in a box but I want people to know that I bring the vibes and know that I have a lot of different tastes. I always want to grow and level up. I don't have one set goal. I just want to keep pushing and pushing till the egg cracks and a beautiful swan comes out of it," she said.
