Jahtorius urges men to ‘walk away’

Jahtorius says he released the single Walk Away because he felt men’s experiences in relationships were being overlooked.

“Men don’t get the attention they deserve,” the artiste said. “We are looked at as robots, as if we don’t have feelings and emotions.”

He said disappointment in relationships is a subject many people avoid discussing. But the message at the heart of his song is clear: no matter how painful a breakup may be, violence is never the answer.

“Walk away, even if it hurts. Love yourself. Put yourself first,” he said.

Jahtorius describes the track as full of melody and energy, with a message listeners can take away. He brought the idea to producer Dinesty King, whom he calls “a master producer”, and the two developed the record together. A music video has already been made.

Walk Away is part of a five-track project built around relatable relationship experiences. Jahtorius said that the early response has been encouraging, particularly from people he has met in the streets. He hopes to build on that reaction as the record reaches a wider audience.

Beyond music, the artiste says community work matters to him. He helps children attend school and says the Falmouth Dinesty Youth Foundation has provided hurricane relief.
