Student robbed after leaving church
A man who robbed a University of The West Indies student of his cellphone while he was making his way home from church, will have to wait until November 30 for his fate to be decided.
Charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon is 21-year-old Nicholas Perry.
He pleaded guilty to both offences and begged the court for leniency.
Perry said, "Your honour, a because mi ago start school at Heart (Trust) and can't find it."
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said, "You come here and tell me about school you going, because you learn that in the cell because everybody know Miss Pusey like to hear that."
RM Pusey asked a probation officer to provide a social-enquiry report on Perry before sentencing.
"If one sentence you told me is a lie, you will be sorry," said RM Pusey.
Perry will be sentenced on November 30.
A fingerprint order was also made.
