The Half-Way Tree police seized one firearm, along with several rounds of ammunition, and arrested a motorcyclist on Marl Road, Kingston 11, on Monday.
Reports are that about 10 p.m., a team of officers was on patrol along Bay Farm Road when the driver of a motorcycle was signalled to stop. The driver disobeyed and drove on to Marl Road, where he abandoned the motorcycle and ran into a yard.
He was pursued and held by the police, who searched him and the bag he was carrying. Inside the bag, the cops found one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight 9mm rounds of ammunition, which was seized.
He was taken into custody, but his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
