Triple murder rocks Arnett Gardens
Commissioner of police Dr Carl Williams, has vowed that the police are going to catch up with the criminals responsible for yesterday's mayhem on Lincoln Avenue in Arnett Gardens, St Andrew, which left three dead and three others nursing gunshot wounds.
The commissioner was among a group of high ranking police personnel who converge at the scene of the shooting trying to reassure the community as residents stood by with grim looking faces.
The dead men have been identified as Kenardo Hutchinson, Odane Abbot, 21 and Morais Harris, 35.
Reports are that the deceased were among a group of people in a gambling yard about 4:30 p.m. Witnesses told THE STAR that a white Honda car drove up and men alighted, entered the yard and opened fire hitting the six before fleeing in the waiting vehicle. The three men died on the scene.
Dr Williams told THE STAR, "Criminals are going to stop at nothing to create mayhem but we are going to catch up with them. We are now gathering information and we are quite confident that we will catch them."
Some residents were in shock and expressed anger at the bloodshed. "The man dem weh do the killing must suffer, crosses ago follow them," said a female resident.
