Man given bail for receiving stolen cell phone
A St Catherine man who was charged with receiving stolen property was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 when he appear in St Catherine Parish Court on Wednesday.
He is Chaddane Harris, a 21-year-old labourer of Old Braeton in Portmore, St Catherine.
When Harris appeared in court, his lawyer, Vincent Wellesley, made a successful bail application.
He told the court that Harris bought the cell phone from someone else and was then held by the police.
Wellesley told the court that while Harris had a previous conviction, he had no other matter before the court.
Bail was granted with one or two sureties, and Harris is scheduled to reappear in court on December 19.
It is alleged that Harris was held with a cellular phone which was said to be stolen from a house in Portmore.
Following an investigation, he was charged with receiving stolen property.
