Chain grabber to be sentenced
A 25-year-old chain grabber will know his fate come December 30.
Randy Morgan, who said he is a vendor of Kingston 13, pleaded guilty to the charge of simple larceny on Friday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
The court further heard that it was not his first offence.
Upon hearing of his previous convictions, Judge Andrea Collins said she will remand him for sentencing at a later date to allow her time to assess his records.
However, she added, "Record or no record, given the time of the year, I'm going to confine you."
Reports are that on November 10, at about 3 p.m. the complainant, who is a carpenter, was in downtown Kingston boarding a number 47 JUTC bus when he felt someone grab his gold chain.
He reportedly gave chase and recognised Morgan, a man he knew before.
Upon catching up to Morgan, a tussle ensued until the police came on the scene and arrested Morgan.
Under caution, the accused man said, "Mi neva get charged fi grab chain before, enuh!" He was then remanded.
