Chain grabber awaits sentencing

A man who stole a gold chain from the purse of a woman will have to wait on his next court appearance before his fate is decided.

Charged with larceny of a gold chain is Dwayne Williams, who appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.

He pleaded guilty and offered to compensate the complainant.

The court heard that on September 18, Williams stole the gold chain and pendant valued at $25,000.

Parish judge Vaughn Smith told him to get in contact with a relative and for the relative to bring the compensation money on his sentencing date, October 19.

A fingerprint order was made.
