Body of missing firefighter fished from Westmoreland river
The police have launched an investigation into the death of 57-year-old Carteus McIntosh, a corporal in the Jamaica Fire Brigade from Logwood district in Westmoreland.
McIntosh's body was fished from the Roaring River on Tuesday morning, just a few days after he reportedly went missing from his home on Saturday.
His motor vehicle was discovered in the vicinity of the Roaring River on Tuesday morning, and following a search of the river by his colleagues, his body was discovered.
The STAR understands that McIntosh has been going through a period of depression since he lost one of his foot a few months ago during a fire accident.
More details soon.
