Accused in murder of GC Foster VP get new court date
The two men who were arrested and charged in the murder of Gibbs Williams, the late GC Foster College vice principal, were given a new a new court date to have their case heard.
When the matter came today in the St Catherine Parish Court, it was revealed, the ballistic certificate, postmortem report, arresting officer statement and the CFCU reports are still outstanding.
The matter was then postponed until January 26, 2024.
The accused in the matter are 41-year-old Odane Watson otherwise call 'Oddy', from Renford Drive, Kingston 20 and 23-year-old Jerome Hayles of Duffs Street Kingston.
They are charged with murder,possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, using a firearm to commit a crime, being a participant in a criminal organisation, aiding and abetting and robbery with aggravation.
On October 6, the now deceased Williams went to do business at a medical facility in Portmore, St Catherine, when he was attacked and shot while leaving the facility.
He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital,where he was pronounced dead.
Investigation by the St Catherine South Police resulted in the arrest and subsequent charge of the accused.
