Teen remanded after relatives say they are ‘tired’ of his alleged stealing

A 19-year-old man accused of breaking into his relatives’ home and making off with money and a bottle of Hennessy was remanded after his alleged victims told the court they were fed up with his behaviour.

Herron Fearon, who is charged with housebreaking and larceny, appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday.

When the matter was mentioned, the complainants reportedly declined mediation, telling the court that Fearon was a habitual thief and that they were tired of his behaviour.

Parish Judge Venese Blackstock-Murray subsequently ordered him remanded until October 5.

The allegations are that on August 9, Fearon's relatives securely locked their home in Content, St Catherine, before leaving.

However, when they returned the following day, they allegedly discovered that the house had been broken into.

Missing were US$500, C$200, $30,000 in Jamaican currency and a bottle of Hennessy liquor.

A report was made to the Bog Walk police, who launched an investigation.

Fearon was subsequently arrested, and police reportedly recovered the bottle of Hennessy.

He was later charged.
