Men's 400m van Niekerk vs Makwala

South Africa's Wayde van Niekerk and Botswana's Isaac Makwala have been carrying the torch for African quarter-milers and are among some of the best the world has seen in the 400m event.

The two will renew their rivalry at the Rome Diamond League tomorrow in what will be the World Champion van Niekerk's first real test this season.

This rivalry has been pretty close over the years and although the South African has enjoyed the results over the past three races, Makwala will like his chances here.
