SVL gives National Trials tickets to 10 schools
Supreme Ventures Limited has presented 10 schools from within and outside of the Corporate Area with a total of 1,500 tickets to watch this weekend's Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) National Trials.
The Trials will take place from June 30- July 3 at the National Stadium.
SVL has been title sponsor of the annual event for 13 years, pumping some $16 million into this year's staging. The company also sponsored the recently staged Junior Championships.
"This is perhaps the most important event on our sporting calendar, and we are proud to have our name associated with a meet of this magnitude and the extraordinary talent that will be on show at the stadium," said president and CEO of SVL, Brian George.
SVL has given 50 tickets for Friday, 50 for Saturday and 50 for Sunday to Denbigh High, Denham Town High, Porus High, Calabar High, Tacky High, Yallahs High, Edwin Allen High, Decarteret College, Holmwood Technical and Kingston College for the bleachers' section of the stadium. According to the SVL boss, the 10 schools chosen were a mixture of those with noted track and field history, as well as those who are not.
The championships will be used to select Jamaica's track and field teams for the Olympic Games in Brazil from August 5-21.
